Child Safety Standards

Effective October 23, 2026

School Connect is a communication tool for schools and parents. Because our platform involves student information and may be used in schools that serve minors, we maintain strict standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and are committed to the safety of every child.

Zero Tolerance for CSAE

School Connect has an absolute zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. Any content, behavior, or use of the app that constitutes or facilitates CSAE will result in immediate account termination and will be reported to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and local law enforcement, as required by law.

This applies to all users of the platform — parents, school coordinators, and any other account holders — without exception.

How the App Works

School Connect is a one-directional school communication tool. Understanding how it works is important context for our child safety posture:

  • Coordinators send; parents receive. School coordinators (verified school staff) broadcast notices, exam schedules, and PTM invitations to parents. Parents acknowledge and respond. There is no open message thread between users.
  • No child accounts. Children do not have accounts on School Connect and cannot access or interact with the app. The platform is used exclusively by adults — school staff and parents/guardians.
  • No user-generated public content. The app has no public feed, forum, comment section, or social feature. All content is sent by verified school coordinators to a specific, controlled audience of parents.
  • Student records are data, not profiles. Student names and class details are administrative records entered by coordinators — they are not viewable by other parents, not searchable, and not shareable within the app.

Access Controls

Access to the platform is tightly scoped to prevent misuse:

  • Coordinator accounts are created and managed by the school. Only school staff designated as coordinators by their institution can send messages or access student records.
  • Parent accounts are added to the system by the school coordinator using a verified phone number. Parents can only view notices and records for their own child's class.
  • Cross-school access is blocked. Coordinators can only access records for their own school. No user can view data from another school.
  • Authentication is handled through Wizgu Auth — all accounts require verified credentials before access is granted.

No Direct Child Access or Contact

School Connect is designed so that children are never users of the platform and cannot be contacted through it:

  • Children do not have login credentials and cannot download or use the app.
  • No feature of the app allows any user to initiate contact with a child or student directly.
  • Student information stored in the app (name, grade, class) is used solely to route notices to the correct parents and is never displayed to anyone other than the relevant coordinator and parent.

Reporting Abuse or Concern

If you encounter any content or behavior within School Connect that you believe constitutes child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming, or any related harm, report it immediately:

We will cooperate fully with law enforcement in any investigation relating to CSAE. Reports to us do not replace reporting to authorities — if you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.
